History

Founded in late 2006, mlingojones.com is the portfolio site and blog of the New Jersey-based graphic artist Jake Lazaroff.

About the Site

This site has been coded by hand (hand!) in HTML 4.01 Strict and CSS 2. Movable Type manages the pages and the blog content, and PhotoStack manages the portfolio. The cool popup-esque effect in the portfolio is courtesy of Lightbox JS v2.0. The site is hosted at TextDrive, and the domain name is from Gandi.

About the Name

"mlingojones.com" is taken from the name of the main character in a comic strip written for a school project. Although the strip never was completed, Jake still has the script and plans to finish it at some point.

The word "mlingo" is pronounced with two syllables (mli·ngo). Tip: say "ham lingo" quickly. Now drop the "ha".
